Dr. Harpreet Sood

MD, MPH, MRCGP

Harpreet is currently Vice President, Primary Care at Huma and a National Health Service (NHS) primary care doctor. Harpreet is also a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College London Business School and a Board Member at Wesleyan, a financial services mutual organisation.

Harpreet was formerly the first Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) at NHS England, and prior to that, Senior Fellow to the Chief Executive Officer of NHS England, where he advised senior NHS policymakers on NHS innovation and technology policy. As the Associate CCIO, Harpreet was involved in and developing and implementing NHS England's digital health and data strategy, including co-founding and leading on the NHS Digital Academy. Harpreet has been an advisor to the UK Covid Vaccine programme and a board member at Health Education England, a $5.5bn organisation training and educating 160,000 staff across the NHS. Here his focus is on developing digital and data science skills and training for the NHS workforce.

Harpreet has worked in the US where he co-founded a digital health startup in Boston and worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Harpreet trained as a clinical doctor at King’s College London and Imperial College Business School and completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University.

Harpreet has over 30 published papers in peer reviewed journals including the British Medical Journal (BMJ), Lancet, Nature, Digital Medicine and the Journal
of the American Medical Informatics Association (JAMIA).
